Win dain a lotica
En vai tu ri
Si lo ta
Fin dein a loluca
En dragu a sei lain
Vi fa-ru les shutai am
En riga-lint
Win chent a lotica
En vai tu ri
Si lo ta
Fin dein a loluca
Si katigura neuver
Floreria for chesti
Si entina
La la la la la la la la la...
Fontina blu cent
De cravi esca letisimo
La la la la la la la la la...
De quantian
La finde reve
Win dain a lotica
En vai tu ri
Si lo ta
Fin dein a loluca
En dragu a sei lain
Vi fa-ru les shutai am
En riga-lint

Anata wa saisho no ryuu datta
Watashi no aisuru hito
Fa-ri no karikabu no ue kara

Ika ni utsushiku, mizu ga sono kuchibiru ni fureta koto ka
Ika ni anata ga, tatakai no ho saki ni kirameita koto ka

<English lyrics>
You were the first dragon
My beloved
I've been watching you
From atop the fairy stump
How beautifully did the water touch those lips
How you shone at the spearhead of battle
La la la la la la la la la...
Because you flew away
The sky is unseen to me
Let's just sell this spinning-wheel
So everything will be illusion
My beloved
You were the first dragon

Original lyrics were transcribed from the Escaflowne movie soundtrack CD booklet. Translated Japanese lyrics and translated English lyrics were submitted by Karen Odain.
The original lyrics are a nonsense mix of words from various languages, including a number of Italian phrases. Yoko Kanno has a history of doing this on soundtracks in order to create the needed exotic sound. A Japanese "translation" of the lyrics was provided in the Escaflowne movie soundtrack CD booklet. Yes, I know the original lyrics and translated lyrics do not have line breaks that match up. Blame the CD booklet for this — the Japanese "translation" did not match the original line for line.
