Aggressive Nature

Dirge

lost within a world staring out my window
oblivious to the crime and violence
I’ve lost myself in a self corruptive hell
and so I wait patiently in the surrounding silence
please release me from your pain
set me loose to die in vain

and now I notice along the cliffs of the shore
hands reaching out that I'm forced to ignore
and I hear the waves wash them away
their hounding screams echo each day
as I continue down this winding path
I question authority and its vengeful wrath
though I’ve lead myself to my own promised land
my utopia of flames I do not understand

my mind reaches out to those ignorant fools
and try to save them from their hypocritical lies
but this isolation has me bound and gagged
and now my heroic mind slowly sets down and dies
don’t neglect my dying words
this can’t wait until this morning dirge

now drive a nail into my head
tap my memories long dead
trap me in your living hell
and if there’s no life left, oh well
all the emotions you must choose
drown yourself or hang from a noose
I recall the lies I’ve been told
and find myself in a strangle-hold
and now the chaos runs my life
fighting with the dull edge of this knife
please mother help me find control
'cause I can feel my aggressive nature grow

you wanted war you wanted rage
well you’ve trapped yourselves in this dying age
crush the hands that beg for help
and pray to god yours isn’t dealt
you cry in vain at the memories killed
as I torch all the bridges it took your life to build
I scream with anger that took me years to still
as I search my soul for the numbness pill
and death surrounds us with its violent will
and the blood has just begun to spill
now the bones, they crack and muscles break
do you say this torture is for your own sake
this apocalyptic age still runs with shame
now memories pour out from its burning brain
for the world casts out its polluted race
with no judgment, no mercy, just a consequential fate
which faith tells prophesies this eschatological end
and which heaven or hell shall we descend
and which of us will be left in peace
and who will have to die or face defeat
and who are we to say the world is ours
and will we learn to live before our last hours
